Irredeemable - 3

Here are some more pics from the comic series Irredeemable. The artist is Peter Krause. The author of this series is Mark Waid.

This series tries to answer the question"What would happen if Superman turned out to be a villain?"

bad superman
The main character, the antagonist who previously used to be protagonist is named as the plutonian. He used to be just like superman, the savior of the world. however, an unfortunate series of events led him to become a not so good guy. in the first pages of the first issue of this comic book series, we see the character plutonian killing another super hero along with his entire family. the hero he killed actually used to be his former ally.

In this picture, we can see that he is walking into somewhere that looks like his trophy room where he keeps his conquest souvenirs. it seems like this place is really like the fortress of solitude of superman.

comics
this is another one of the villains of this entire series. he used to be the antagonist when the plutonian used to be a good guy fighting for the people. he was thought to be long gone after plutonian turned evil. however, he was revealed out to be much alive after a while.

angel comics
here we have a hero who resembles a little bit like hawkman. this guy has wings attached to his back and in the background, we can see a lot of crows standing on a electric grid line. this guy also has some history with the plutonian and it might not be a positive one. we can understand that from the shades of red and dark color of this particular picture.

comics wallpaper
here we can see some people talking in a fancy place. out of all these people, the one in the middle wearing white and red clothing with red cloak is actually the plutonian. his costume used to be different when he used to be a good guy. after turning evil his costume color was changed into shades of red and black.

This is a decent enough comic series. Most comic series lovers can get into the story really easily. although the story get a little slow paced in the middle.

Five Ghosts

Here are some pics from the comic series Five Ghosts. It is written by Frank J. Barbiere and illustrated by Chris Mooneyham. The main protagonist is actually an adventurer and the story gives out a strong indiana jones vibe.  except in this case, the main protagonist actually has some sort of powers. to be more precise, he has five types of powers. he can borrow skills from five types of ghosts from time to time. these ghosts have different types of powers. the ghosts give him different types of powers such as archery, detective, wizardry, samurai and vampire.

this is actually one of the villains of this series. this person has a really evil look on his eyes all of his eyes are glowing with bright red light. he also has a really evil grin on his face.he is holding two red and possibly really sharp knife in both of his hands, one of his hands is in front of us and one hand is behind but still the knife is visible from front. he is not trying to hide his intentions at all to whoever is in front of him.

here we can see the main protagonist looking carefully at something or someone. in the background we can see a shadow of a man's face and a hand holding an arrow. this means that the shadow behind the main protagonist is actually one out of the five ghosts and from the arrow, we can understand that the ghost belongs to the archer. it is safe to say that the main character is going to use the power of this particular ghost and shoot an arrow at someone or something.

sure enough, we can see that he is aiming at something or someone. this means that whatever or whoever he is shooting at is out of his range and he can not possibly fight at a close quarter. that is why he thought it would be prudent to use the ghost of the archer instead of the ghost of the vampire or samurai or detective or wizard.

here we can see someone, most likely to be the main protagonist, walking through some trapped place and avoiding a lot of wires. this means that he is going towards something really valuable or someone really valuable to him.  it is scenes and pictures like this that led me to compare this particular comic series with Indiana Jones.

here again we can see that the main protagonist, Fabian Gray has lit up a torch and he is looking for something. we can also see the ghost of the archer in the background.

Iron Man - Extremis - 3

Here are some more pics from the comic Iron Man: Extremis. The artist is Adi Granov. The auhor of this series is Warren Ellis. This is one of the best iron man stories from the recent years.

The story of the movie Iron Man 3 was loosely based on this story. in the trailers and the promotions, it kind of looked like that the mandarin is going to be the main antagonist of the movie. however, it turned out to be a plot twist and the main villains were the members of the extremis project. some also said that the villain mandarin itself actually had a lot of potential and the potential was completely wasted.

In this story, a person with the extremis serum actually gave a lot of trouble to Tony Stark.

here we can see iron man fighting with the previously mentioned villain one on one. iron man has shot a repulsor beam from his chest directly to the guy. no normal human being should be able to take that burst shot and survive.

however, we can see that the guy has survived the repulsor beam and has picked up an entire car with his bare hand and is about to throw the car at the direction of tony stark.

iron man has shot another much more powerful burst of repulsor beam towards the guy and it has resulted in the guy flying away in the sky. we can see that the car he was holding before is flying away in another direction.

the guy has still stood up again. but, in the background, we can see a lot of helicopters flying towards hi direction. this kind of goes on to indicate that the guy still has much of his energy left since he looks really angry. he will not be able to fight for much longer because the helicopters probably has a lot of soldiers in them and they are all there to stop this madness.

here we can see doctors getting out from what looks like to be a hospital and they seem distressed. this might mean that they are worried about something and someone, maybe tony stark, is severely injured.

here we can see a person sitting on top of a garbage bin. this persons hand are close to his mouth, indicating that he or she might be trying to light up a cigarette. I don't know about you, but this person sure does look guilty of something.

this is the broken and beaten car the antagonist has tossed and turned around. from the logo and the design, it look like the car is a Porsche 911.

This is my second favorite iron man story after demon in a bottle.

Astro City - 4

Here are some more pics from the comic series Astro City. The series is written by Kurt Busiek. The artists are Alex Ross and Brent Anderson. In my dreams i fly, is the opening line of one of the best series of all time. This talks about the lives of super heroes and most of the super heroes mentioned in this series actually resembles one or another character from marvel or DC universe.

there is samaritan who is this series's version of super man. there is the confessor, kind of like batman. then there is the silver agent, whose story is kind of similar to that of captain america. there is also jack-in-the-box, who is a clown themed super hero.

Do not get me wrong, at first glance these characters might look like they are similar to superman or batman or captain america, but they are absolutely complete characters on their own rights, with well written story of their own. the most tragic story belongs to the silver agent, who is a time traveler.

here it looks like one of the biggest heroes in this world is actually on the roof top to save the day of some random citizen. but, it is actually a normal person who is an actor. this actor just happens to play the role of a super hero.

here we can see the guy getting his facial make up done by a makeup artist. this particular story is actually centered around this person who plays a super hero inside a screen and he plays the role of a small hero at the end of this story.

here we can see the samaritan fighting a creature that seems like it has the power of lightning. it also looks like that the samaritan is having a hard time fighting with this thing. if that is the case, then it would be a hard time for everyone else to control this thing.

here we can see a group of villains. it seems like they have broken into a place somehow. these people look really familiar. one of these people looks like clayface and another looks like dr. freeze. all these characters in this series are actually drawn to resemble other characters from different comic series.

Ex Machina - 4

Here are some more pics from the comic series Ex-Machina. It is written by Brian K. Vaughan and Illustrated by Tony Harris.

the name of the main protagonist of this series is mitchel hundredd. this character is actually some sort of super hero.he used to be a normal guy with a normal job. somehow, flas hstyle, there was an explosion and he received a weird super power.

his super power is actually being able to talk to and listen to various machines. he can command various machines to do stuff and the machines oblige him most of the time. he used to be a civil engineer before he experienced the explosion from a machine that was out of this dimension.

he used to fly with the help of a nifty jet pack. he was also able to talk to the jet pack and command it. the biggest achievement of his life as a super hero was that in this universe, he was able to slightly reduce the harsh effect of the events of what happened in september eleventh in 2001. in this universe, the world trade center only lost one tower and mitchel hundred was able to save the other one.

so, what do you do when you save one towers of the world trade center? well you run for the seat of the mayor of course. in the present time of the comic book series, mitchel hundred is actually a mayor running the office and the stories revolve around the trials and other tribulations of running in the office. however, things from his past life does come to haunt him and his past heroic activities are actually told through flashbacks.

in this series we know the main power of the main protagonist is actually communicating and commanding the machines. there are villains that have kind of similar power. one person was actually able to control human behavior by commanding people to do stuff and they would just obey the orders and do it. at the near end of the entire series, we see the main protagonist running for the seat of the president of the united states of america.

Spoiler alert: he does not win.

New Avengers

Here are some pics from the comic series New Avengers. The writer is Brian Michael Bendis. The artist is David Finch.

The first story in this new avengers series is titled breakout. In this story, villains locked up in a island that is built like a prison for super villains plan to break out of.

The avengers team is mixed up and new characters join the team. The characters are not new in the marvel universe. They are well known and beloved characters, but they are actually new to join the avengers. a series of strange set of circumstances bring these people back together as the team. Here we can see a lot of silhouettes. although the people are drawn to look like they are standing in the darkness, we can easily make out to identify all the characters. here you have captain america, wolverine, spider woman, iron man etc.

here we can see one of the villains named electro with an evil grin on his face. he is probably planning for the big escape of all the super villains from the prison and that is why he is looking like that. we can also see that electricity is flickering out from different sides of his body.

this is the prison inside the island that is specially designed for keeping super villains with extra ordinary power inside so they will not do anything bad to the world. here in this picture we can see that there seems to be an explosion in this place and there is light and smoke coming out of the place. this means that the break out is on its way and the bad guys are going to try to get out of the prison.

here in this picture we can see that spider man is going hurriedly towards something. this indicates that spider man has seen the huge explosion from far away and he is going closer to see if anything is wrong over there.

here we can see that spider man is climbing on top of a building and captain america is holding out his hand to help spider man get on top of the building. we can see the fires and the smoke in close proximity in the background. we can also see people with guns in their hands standing behind captain america. this means captain america got there faster than spider man and he is helping spider man get on top of the building.

Batman: Absolution

Here are some pics from Batman: Absolution. The artist is Brian Ashmore. Absolution means gaining forgiveness for a past sin that you have committed. In this story, there is a criminal who tries to get absolution for her crime and batman has to come to terms with the facts that a person who used to be evil has turned her life around and changed herself. can a person truly become good from evil?

in batman's early years, he did not always fight super villains all of the time. in this particular case, we can see batman and another woman in the above picture. The woman in the right is actually an arsonist. here batman is seen to be running through fire and the woman looks like she is running away from a house. if you look closely, you can see that batman is actually chasing her.

so what is the significance of this scene after what i just described as the premise of this comic story? well, the woman actually went far away to get away from the law and actually get salvation.

in this picture we can see the unforgiving night streets of gotham city. a homeles person has something, probably alcohol, on his hands. smoke is coming out from under the streets. a car can be seen and also a man that is standing next to the car. the horizon looks completely dark over here. this can mean either the fire has spread a lot or the sun is just setting.

here again we can see that a number of people are standing outside of the burning building. it is actually a big house surrounding a vacant space. this might indicate that the owners of the house were rich.

here we can see that batman is confronting the woman that was actually the cause of the fire. batman has let go of his fears and jump straight into the burning building to see if some body was in need of dire help. but instead, he has found out the perpetrator of the crime.

here again we can see that the streets of india and a seemingly expensive car is driving along the cows and rickshaws and poor people. since it is a batman comic, it is safe to assume that bruce wayne is actually inside that exact car. why else would we be seeing this odd panel inside a batman comic.

The arsonist actually got away from batman at the day of the crime. batman had tracked her down after a long time and confronted her for the crimes she committed in the past. there he saw that the woman was trying to get good and she had let go of her bad ways of life.

Spoiler alert: there was another fire in the place she was living and she died while trying to save others from the fire.

100 Bullets

Here are some pics from the comic series 100 Bullets. It is Written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Eduardo Risso. This comic book series might be adapted to the screens very soon and i think that would be a great show.

here we can see a jail cell. one of the main characters of this series was actually in jail just before the time of the series started and the first story continues when the person was released from the jail. the story starts with a mysterious plot.

a mysterious person gives random people a gun and one hundred bullets(get it, 100 bullets?). you can do anything with these 100 bullets and the gun, nobody will do anything to you, the police won't catch you if you use this gun. in this picture we can see that there is a shootout going on. this kind of action is pretty common in this comic book series and it also sets the tone for the entire series as a whole.

the thing is, this guy gives the guns to only those people who might be in the need of guns like these. these people might end up using the guns or not. that is how the story starts. but, it starts to get way crazier. it seems like the person that is providing these guns actually used to be involved with some shady people. here we can see a motor bike going at a high speed in a narrow road and there is also a car that is behind on the same road. it is not clear about the situation of the car, wheter the car is also moving to chase the bike or not, if the car is going fast or not etc.

turns out there are a lot of organized crime stuff that is going on and there are also some really highly skilled hitmen involved. I do not think I am explaining this series justifiably, however, I do think if you are into crime dramas, you should definitely heck this one out.

This series has 100 issues. Get it? One hundred issues for 100 bullets?

Gotham City Sirens - 2

Here are some more pics from Gotham City Sirens. The artist is Guillem March. This comic series focuses itself on three female characters of DC universe. all three characters have dabbled between kind of evil kind of anti heroic. the characters are- cat woman, harley quinn, poison ivy. for a period of time, these three characters had become friends and had started living together. and gotham city sirens focuses on what they had to go through in the amount of time they had been together. all the popular batman characters make appearances in this series. some of them are brief appearances and some of them are actually part of the series.

here we can see the one and only joker with a weird smile on his face. everyone knows that joker had to be a big part of this story since harley quinn is one of the main characters of this story. by now almost everyone knows the history between harley quinn and joker. harley quinn used to be harleen quinzel and she used to be a registered psychologist.

here we can see the riddler looking at someone or something. here it looks like he is looking at something but his eyes are not visible to us. this is probably done as to give him a dramatic effect. riddler is one of those smart villains who is obsessed riddles and puzzles. he always creates elaborate puzzles and riddles for batman to solve. he is actually showcased in this series pretty heavily.

here we can see a man looking at something mysterious. the man probably is bruce wayne. or, he might just be anybody else. it seems like in the bottom of the picture there are a lot of tiny lights. that would indicate that a man is looking down at a city at night during night time from a high rise building. (why is it called a building when it has already been built?).

But the top portion of the picture is completely perplexing.

here we can see the joker and harly quinn. the panel is drawn in black and white with a slightly grey shade. this color choice would indicate this thing to be a flashback. harley quinn is probably remembering a piece of her past. it is quite possible that this was a particularly happy moment for her with joker, seen from her smiling face, but it can very well turn out to be a bad experience for her.

Harley Quinn is actually in an abusive relationship with the Joker.

X-Men: Second Coming - 2

Here are some more pics from X-Men: Second Coming. this is a sort of post apocalyptic story.

actually it is partly a post apocalyptic story. because, the entire story takes place in different timelines.

here we can see the fan favorite Canadian x-man wolverine. it looks like wolverine has his claws drawn out and his claws look really bloody here. this means he has killed someone very recently or he has hurt someone really fatally. there are guns pointed at him. although we know that bullets do not have that much effect on wolverine, this means whoever is pointing the gun at him does not really know the powers of wolverine.

here we can see a little girl is looking at beauty products at a super market. this does seem like a normal thing. but, the little girl that is looking at the products is actually the strongest mutant known to anyone. her name is hope. there are a lot of people that are looking for her. cable is actually protecting her from all of the threats.

here we can see cable is shooting viciously at enemies. hopefully the people he is shooting at are enemies. the way he is shooting indicates that he is not really aiming at anything. this means that there are too many targets for him to shoot. this can mean both good and bad news. good news is that his bullets will not go to waste and the bad news is he might run out of bullets before the enemies are finished. it was recently announced that cable will be present in the new deadpool movie. if the sequel is anything like the original, cable would be put in as like colossus was in the first movie.

we can see the x men in complete battle mode.there are weapon x, wolverine, angel, colossus etc. in the background, it looks like there are ruins everywhere. this might go on to indicate that the x men are actually traveling through time. another thing is that the x men team does not include all of the original members.

Wolverine: Season One - 2

Here are some more pics from Wolverine: Season One. It is written by Ben Blacker and illustrated by Salvador Espin.

this comic goes on to honor the first ever appearance of the legendary character that is the wolverine. most people might not know this but the first appearance of the wolverine was not in any x man comic book issue. it was actually in an issue of the incredible hulk. in that particular story, the hulk actually had gone berserk and wolverine actually went there to stop him.

this looks like wolverine is actually doing yoga and meditation with some one else. readers know that this is not the personality of wolverine. so he is actually kind of breaking his character.  this scene can indicate another thing. that is, whoever he is going through all of this is actually someone special.

here we can see that the wolverine is getting electric shocked from some sort of robot. it also looks like the wolverine is not properly clothed. he is only wearing his shorts and nothing else. this can mean that wolverine was caught by surprise. he is seen flying through a wall. that can mean that he was ambushed at his home or wherever he was staying at the time.tit seems like wherever the wolverine goes he rings the chaos with him.

this panel really looks like wolverine is getting attacked by the iron man. it looks like he is getting blasted by the repulsor beam of iron man. however, it is more likely that he is actually getting attacked by the same robot like creature that we have seen attack him in the last picture.

here we get confirmation that wolverine is indeed wearing nothing but shorts as he is just standing still as we can see a robot charging at him with full force. this means that wolverine is pretty confident that he can take on the robot pretty easily.it looks like the robot is actually jumping over a car to attack wolverine. previously it looked like he was being attacked in his own home and now it looks like the fight is taking place somewhere outdoors. this is actually a training session and wolverine is practicing his fighting skills.

previously i mentioned that his first appearance was a fight with hulk. here we can see what happened prior to the confrontation of wolverine with hulk. it looks like someone is briefing them about hulk and what hulk can be capable of. in the background, we can see the picture of an angry hulk jumping on a tank.
