Punisher: Noir

Here are some pics from the comic Punisher: Noir. The artist is Paul Azaceta. the noir series is kind of off beat noir take on the various characters of the marvel universe. there are different noir takes on various marvel characters and groups. the art styles are made this way to resemble the looks of the noir style of the movies from the 50s and 60s.

here we can see that frank castle is getting ready for giving some justice to the gang members and mobsters of the old time 20s new york. the justice will come from the edge of his gun. it seems like he has a mask with the skull painted on it and he is sporting an overcoat. if this version of punisher is anything like the punisher we know and love, then he is loaded with arms and weapons inside every corner of the clothing he can fit.

here again we can see that the punisher has a gun on his hand and he is wearing the same skull faced maks on his face. in the background we can see a news paper a police and a building and a couple of beautiful children. this story is actually not about a single frank castle. it involves frank castle sr. and frank castle jr. father and son. two of them fighting in two separate times.

the suspicion was correct and we can see that frank castle is actually fitting in all types of weapons he can fit with inside of his clothing. this indicates that he is actually getting ready for fighting the criminals and deliver some justice.

here we can see the awful picture of the scene during a wartime. some people are shooting the opposition, some are either injured or dead. some are too worried and distressed to do anything. this is what people mean when they say that war is hell. this is actually the backstory of what is going on in the city at the time. the things that happened during world war 1 had a lot to do with the states of the things that came to be in the suburbs and the cities.

here we can see a man who does not seem to be distressed about the situation of the war. this man also has the skull printed on his shirt. this is actually the actual symbol of the punisher we know and love in the normal universe. this person is actually frank castle senior during the first world war.

Punisher-Born

Here are some snapshots from Punisher: Born. It is written by Garth Ennis and Illustrated by Darick Robertson.
This story talks about what happened to Frank Castle in the war before he was The Punisher.

If you have read about the gritty and violent Punisher : Max series also written by Garth Ennis, you might have a little bit of idea about what is going to come in this short comic series.

punisher born
Here you can see the artist Darick Robertson trying to portray the scenario of the Vietnam war with as much detail as possible. There are trenches and artilleries everywhere and you can see a plane flying really close to the ground over here.
punisher born
without much surprise, the plane was blown out of the sky soon enough. this goes on to say that the situation in war is always hellish for every party involved. nobody is real winner as both the supposed winner and loser has to go through a substantial loss to gain anything worthwhile for them. all of that can be portrayed by just the two pictures on this comic.
punisher born
this guy is actually the narrator of this one shot comic titled, Punisher: Born. aptly titled, as punisher was really born from war. some say that he was born after his wife and children were killed in gang war needlessly, but he wouldn't be the character everyone knows and loves without participating in the war and getting trained in a very specialized skill set. that is exactly what we see in this comic short.

you only see the inner monologue of this one little soldier, and at the end of the comic short, when this soldier, along with all other soldier with the troop are dead, you can see the monologue between frank castle and some other entity.
frank castle
here you can see the man himself 'Frank Castle' leading a troop behind him. the troops always felt safe with castle having their back. and they had every reason to feel safe, because frank castle has had proved himself on the battlefield grounds time and time again that he was more than capable enough to take out a lot of enemy soldiers on his own.
punisher born
once again, you can see that the aeroplane is crashing and a soldier is running away from the plane because if this poor little guy is anywhere in the vicinity when the plane crashes, he might as well be dead. that is why he is running for his life.
