Civil War - 7

Here are some more pics from the comic version of Marvel's Civil War. The artist is Steve McNiven.

By this time, i hope everyone currently visiting this page has seen the movie that was inspired by this story. and, if you are a regular comic book reader then you already know that the movies adapted from the comic books are almost never completely faithful to the source material itself. this is due to various issues like studio conflicts, budget constraints etc. especially in these types of comics, characters of all types come together to fight. although, the movie was extraordinary in its own way, the story in the comic series is different and even if you have seen the movie first, reading the comic series that inspired such a great movie would not be a bad choice at hand.

captain america dead
at the end of the comic series, unlike the movie where captain america just walked away, captain america surrendered himself to the authorities and while he was being prosecuted and being taken to the appropriate places, he was shot by a sleeper agent and that is where captain america died.

now you know why comic book readers are always concerned about the well-being of good old captain America.

civil war comics
as is stated earlier, in a comic story of such a large scale, characters never introduced to the general movie going audiences make appearances. as we can see in this picture, namor has come to fight along in this civil war. we can also see a glimpse of his extraordinary power. however, namor has not been introduce nor has been mentioned in the previous canon marvel story lines. what would happen if suddenly characters like them came to fight in the movies, it would certainly create a lot of confusion among the moviegoers.

civil war thor
here we can see thor charging along other lesser known heroes and heroines behind him covering his back. thor is actually in the side of iron man in this comic story. however, in the movie civil war, thor was completely absent as he was busy with the events of ragnarok.  here in this picture we can see that lightning has struck his hammer.

However, in the comic version of this story, this particular Thor has a secret. The secret will be revealed to you pretty soon.

marvel civil war
The secret is pretty close to be revealed. again we can see an angry guy wielding Thor's mighty hammer mjolnir. The casual moviegoer will not have any idea about who is this guy and why does he seem so angry.

This actually is another one of the gods present in the marvel universe.

thor dead

The lesser god has struck down the god of thunder and we can easily see the secret that i told you guys about this Thor in this particular story line. we can see the the thor is actually a robot.

Yes, it was a robot. This robot was constructed by Reed Richards. That is why it was obeying every command given by mr fantastic himself. Before striking the the mechanical Thor, he said something along the line of, thou art not my god or thou art not my thor. the actual thor, god of thunder, was actually dead in the comic series before the events of civil war took place in the marvel universe.

Yeah, comic can be weird.

American Vampire - 7

Here are some more pics from the comic series American Vampire. This series is illustrated by Rafael Albuquerque. The story overall is written by the talented Scott Snyder. However, the first five issues were co-written by none other than steven king himself.

this series is really well written. But, it can be a little hard to get into for the kind of people who have never read any type of comic books or graphic novels before. the story takes place in multiple timelines. as it is mainly based on the story of vampires, the title says it all, and people with little knowledge bout vampires would know that vampires are immortal. that is why even though the story takes place across different timelines, some of the central characters remain to be the same.

horror comics
here we can see that a plane is taking off and at the background, we can see that the sun is just rising from or it is just going down. if it is rising, then we can say that all the vampires will be going into hiding. there might be some vampires inside the plane that is taking off itself.if the sun is setting right now, then we can say that the vampires will be coming out of their hiding spots.

horror comics
here we can see a boat. the boat is painted very vividly. from the front side painting of the boat, we can assume that the painting of the boat resembles the outlook of a shark. with these bits of information, we can pretty safely say that the people inside the boat are all soldiers and it is war time and the soldiers are going to fight.

scott snyder
the implications of the previous picture seemed to be correct as we can see a couple of soldiers with guns walking along a forest or a bushy places. from the title of this story, we can assume that one of these soldiers or maybe both of them are vampires. but, we can see sunlight in the background and the story is written by Stephen King and Scott Snyder. so, the vampires are not going to shine in sunlight rather they will burn to death. so we can say that one or both of them are not yet vampires but they soon will be turned out and they will become vampires.

rafael albuquerque
here we can see that soldiers are looking at a single direction that is far from them. it seems like that there is some kind of explosion and there is also a village between the soldiers and the place of the explosion.

horror comics
int his last picture, we can see that the soldiers that are still able to walk and move are carrying the wounded soldiers that possibly cannot walk without the support of others. all of them are going towards a large mansion. this large mansion seems to have an eerie presence in this scene. there seems to be lightning behind the mansion. lightning is never a good sign in stories like these, specially horror stories.

Age of Ultron - 5

Here are some more pics from the comic version of Age of Ultron. Various artists have collaborated in this series, such as, Bryan Hitch and Brandon Peterson.

Unlike the movie with the same name, this comic series is actually pretty weird. as weird as superhero comic stories can go.

This story contains various alternate timelines, time traveling, killing someone in the past to change the present conditions and everything in between.

Age of ultron
here we can see ultron looking as menacing as he can be. this picture is actually from the time and place when his consciusness actually came to the current reality. whatever that current reality would be.in the background you can see that he has burnt down everything behind him, resonating with the theme of this story.

ant man
here you can see ant-man flying along the city.you might think what would be the significance of a character like ant-man be in such a large story line like age of ultron.

unlike the movie age of ultron, where tony stark aka iron man had created ultron, in comics, hank pymm, aka ant man had created ultron himself. and ultron is actually an old character. ant man has been portrayed as a comic relief in the movies, but, in comic books the character is portrayed as a genius who can match his intelligence with the best of all marvel universe.

comic wallpapers
here in this picture, we can see that a yellow car, might be a taxi might not be a taxi, is going really fast along the traffic.this can mean something like that a very important character in the story is in that exact car. this means that the power of the person does not include something like super speed or flying.. or, it can also mean that the person in this car does not have any power at all.

comics
here we can see that someone has collected all the pictures of all the characters with superpowers or important significance on a wall. this gesture always has an eerie implication. this means that the person collecting all the pictures is tracing everyone whose pictures he or she has collected. or they are simply trying to kill all of the characters and are keeping a count or a tally. the picture that is in the close-up is actually that of the lesser know marvel character moo-knight. moon-knight is actually the lesser know marvel version of batman. he is not very well know among the comic reading community. but, those people who have actually read the moon knight character seem to love him.

ultron
here we can see the soldiers of the ultron army. in the movie, we actually had a glimpse of this thing. but, we didn't really see any regime of ultron to consider it as an age of ultron. on the contrary, in the comic books, ultron had taken over and he has had been ruling over the world for a long ime. he also had eradicated a lot of heroes of the world. the heroes had to use time travel to stope the age of ultron from beginning in the first place. that was not done in the movies in the first place.

World War Hulk - 3

Here are some more pics from the comics World War Hulk. The artist here is John Romita Jr.

if you have seen the new Thor: Ragnarok movie, then you would be familiar with the theme of hulk fighting out in a distant alien planet as a gladiator.

in order to understand the story of world war hulk, you have to understand what happened before all this took place. before world war hulk, there was planet hulk. in that story the Illuminati( yes, you read that right, the Illuminati) decided that hulk was too dangerous for planet earth and sent him outer space. Hulk landed on a distant planet and became a gladiator champion. just when everything was going good the entire planet kinda exploded and almost everyone died. so hulk came to earth for his revenge.

in this story, hulk pretty much beaten up everybody and made a gladiator arena for his own enjoyment and made the various marvel heroes fight each other.

world war hulk
this is actually from the near ending of the story. the character sentry actually got angry and went along to fight with hulk. sentry is considered to be one of the most powerful characters to ever exist on the marvel univers. but he has some sort of psychological disorder and he is pretty unstable mentally. so, he usually refrains from all sorts of fighting. but here, we can see that the tyranny of hulk had made him angry enough to go fight the hulk himself.

world war hulk fight
and then we see him pundh hulk with all of his might. it seems like it must have hurt the guy. even if the guy is hulk himself. sentry is capable of some extraordinary things and if you have read the story avengers breakout, then you would know what i am talking about.

hulks son

at the very end of this story, we can see that the planet hulk has left has had one sole survivor. guess what, it is actually the son of hulk. and the silhouette of the woman on the right corner of the background is actually that of the woman hulk had married and whose death had hulk grief stricken so much, Kaiera.
