Here are a few pics from a obscure comic written by Grant Morrison. The artist is Darick Robertson.
If you have read anything written by Grant Morrison, then you already know that he has a little, unorthodox taste and it might not be suited for all kinds of audiences. this is a particularly violent comic. needless to say, it is not suitable for children. On the other hand, the art style of Darick Robertson, once again, is absolutely breathtaking. together, they made this comic, titled happy. frankly, i don't have any idea about how and hwy they came up with the particular name "Happy". But, this comic did not make me feel happy in any way whatsoever.
as i mentioned earlier, you can clearly see from this picture that this comic is going to be a violent one. the man is smoking a cigarette while trying to look cool. while he is holding his cigarette in his right hand, he is holding a drill machine in his left hand. and, the drill is a bloody one. his shirt also seems to be covered by blood. goes on to say how violent this comic is going to be already. or it might be ketchup or something else, what do i know. this is not the main character though. he is just a hitman for the main villannous syndicate.
here you can see a glimpse of the beautiful artwork from the talented artist darrick robertson. from this scene, you can see that it is cold and snowing. the time is somewhere around winter. we can also see that a person is walking along the train track of somewhere. he is actually walking to a dark underpass on the train track. this is actually the main protagonist of this short series.
the main protagonist. he was seen in the picture previously shown walking alone in the train tracks in a cold winter night.here it is pretty obvious from his clothing of choice that it is actually winter and very cold. he is also seen to be wielding two guns in both of his hands. we can also see some bright blue feathers falling from the sky. these feathers have a weird significance in this story that is going to be revealed later.
the observation from a previous picture holds true and it is proven by this picture. the entire story takes place during a Christmas eve.here we can see santa claus. not the real santa claus, but a person impersonating the jolly old santa claus. if you look closely in this picture, you can definitely notice something odd with the sack of santa claus and the sinister tone of the story can simply be understood by this small little detail. this story is not for the faint of heart.
once again i am saying this, violence is a big thing in this story. we can see the dead body of an unknown person as soon as the comic begins. his body is bloody, he has a gun in his hand. that means he definitely tried to protect himself and knew that his life was in danger. we can also see some police vehicles behind the body.
remember the blue falling feathers. well the feathers were from this guy. who is this guy you might ask? it is just an imaginary character from this story. i know, sometimes expectations don't lead up to satisfying conclusions, thats life. what ca you do.
