Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader(Batman)

This two issue short story is written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Andy Kubert. The two parts consists of Batman issue #686 and Detective Comics #853. The story of the short series revolves around the funeral of Batman.  If you know any other works of Neil Gaiman, then you would know the accomplishments of him as a writer. He has written a lot of novels along with some of the best comic boo series of all time. This short story is particularly special as to the author tried to imagine the situation when batman would meet his demise and what would happen as an aftermath.

here we can see a lot of well known super villains along with some of his associates lining up to get into some place that might as well be the place where the corpse of batman is being held. as usual, some are sad, some are happy, some are even elated at the news of the death of batman. the story is peculiar in a way that all of the characters have a different story as to how batman died. the cause of death of batman is not really clear. almost all of the villains shown in here claim to be the one that has finally been able to take the life of the legendary detective, the batman.

here we can see alfred, the trusted butler of bruce wayne is holding the cape and cowl the batman.  as i said before that different characters actually tell different backstory behind the death of batman, the back story told by alfred was the most bizarre one. in here, alfred told that batman was really traumatized when his parents died and started training to fight crime. so when he started to fight crime, he did not have anyone meaningful that he could fight against. as a result, bruce was almost on the verge of going insane. then alfred had called in om some friends who were just merely acting as "Super Villains" such as the penguin, two face, the riddler etc. But they were only able to keep on batman's interest only for a while.

So, in order to create an arch enemy of the batman, Alfred put on some make-up and put on a smile. Thus, the greatest enemy of the batman, the joker was created.

Yes, a part of this story actually says that the secret identity of the Joker is actually Alfred Pennyworth.

here we can obviously see the vehicle of cat woman. cat woman is riding the car for attending the funeral of the batman. in this story, cat woman also has a different story behind the death of the batman. she says that batman was shot by a bullet at one night and he was near where cat woman was staying, batman could have been easily saved. however, cat woman did not do anything and let him just die.

here we can see the corpse of the batman. everyone is coming here to visit him and give him his regards.

Spider-Gwen

This is a fairly recent series. The character of Spider-Gwen gained popularity during the Spider-verse storyline. The popularity helped produce an entirely new series named Spider-Gwen. The creators of the series are Jason Latour(Writer) and Robbi Rodriguez(Artist).

As mentioned earlier, this character has gained popularity quite recently(atleast recently when compared to other age old characters). she is actually from an alternate universe and an alternate earth. In that alternate earth, the radioactive spider actually bit Gwen Stacy and she got the power instead of Peter Parker. Also, the peter parker of that said universe was killed because of the green goblin. so you can say that these two universes are actually same same but different.
 Vulture
here you can see the vulture flying off and there is a police officer that is hanging below the vulture. this can mean one of two thing. either the police officer is trying to catch the vulture when he took flight. or, the vulture actually grabbed the police officer and flew away for god knows whatever reason he did so.
here we can see the beloved spidey, also known as spider gwen is web swinging along her favorite city. it is most likely that she is actually chasing the vulture who we just saw was flying away with a police officer.

in this picture we can see that gwen is actually sitting on top of a bill board and looking carefully at something that is on her hand. the content of the bill board is also something interesting. there we can see that it was originally written that someone said that stop spider woman. well in that world she is the spider woman. in the normal comic book universe that we normally read, there is actually a spider woman and she is not in any way related to the spider man or peter parker. but there, people do not call her spider gwen, they actually call her spider woman. But, what is interesting is the fact that someone has spray painted over the bill board, basically vandalizing the bill board. we can not fully see what is written with the spray paint, but we can see the word responsible there. it is most likely that the words actually say, who is responsible.

interestingly, we can see that spider gwen is actually holding a spray paint can and she is startled at looking at something or someone. it seems like she was actually investigating the thing that who was vandalizing across the whole city and the result of her investigation has shocked her.

here we can see the gwen is falling down and she seems to look helpless at the point. we can see water underneath her. it might go on to indicate that whoever she saw that got her shocked actually pushed her to what might seem like her impending doom.

Locke and Key-2

Some more pictures from the horror comic series written by Joe Hill Locke and Key.

The artist is Gabriel Rodriguez.

This is a horror series written by the son of the one and only stephen king. stephen king is known to be the most prolific writer alive at this day and age. his son is also a good writer when it comes to horror stories.

here we can see a weird artifact and it seems like it was closed before and it has somehow opened up. in the background there seems to be some blood on the walls and the blood actually looks like it has made the shape of the greek letter omega. this indicates that something ominous is going to go down(obviously), and the artifact has something to do with it.
here we can see a person walking along a street and he or she is looking around at the houses on the street. it might be safe to assume that the person is quite afraid at the moment in time.
here we can see that a person is actually floating in the air and he is carrying a small child in this hand. if you look closely, you can see that another person is actually looking out from a window from the nearest building. this goes on to indicate that the person holding the child is either trying to kidnap the little child or her is threatening the parents or guardians of the child.
here we can see that a girl with naturally blonde hair color and artificially green hair  is posing and looking confident. however, in the background, we can see that there is a huge shadow like creature with a huge dagger in its hand has its claw really close to the little girl. the creature almost looks like it has grabbed the little girl. it will go on to indicate that the girl does not know that there is a monster behind her. it can also mean that the monster is actually a friend of her and whoever will try to harm her has to face its wrath. that is most likely not the case.
here we can see the statue of a guy with a gun in one hand and a sword in his other hand. he has his sword out of its sheath and an angry look on his face.

This series is well written. But, anyone who might not be into horror stuff will not be really into this particular series.

X-Men Legacy

Here are some pics from X-Men Legacy.

here we can see that two characters fighting with each others. one of the characters has a card in his hand. it is his left hand. the card is an eight of diamond. it seems like the number of the card does not have any sort of significance. however, the card seems to be glowing in the hand of the person holding the card and it is glowing in the color purple. so, it can be easily deduced that the character that is not fully visible to us is actually the x man gambit.

here we can see almost all of the major x man characters. there is scott summers aka cyclops, who is currently acting as the leader of the group. there is also other characters like nightwing, rogue and gambit. it seems to look like cyclops is pointing towards something. that means that he is telling the other members of the x man group to go to that direction or he might be warning them about something that is in that particular place and how they might be planning to attack that.

here we can see that explosions are going on. there are people being seen faintly in the background of the panel. But, the main focus of this scene in the venom and colossus. it seems like they are fighting in the middle of the street. from what we can see, it looks like that venom is actually the one that is in the offensive as he has thrown a punch towards his opponent. and colossus is trying his best to defend himself as he is seen in a defensive position.
here we can see rogue is facing against captain marvel. yes, there are captain marvels in both marvel and dc universe. the one in the marvel universe is a female. she is an immensely powerful character. here rogue, who is capable of rendering an opponent out cold with just one touch, seems really worried by seeing captain marvel. and she does look worried quite justifiably so.
here again we can see rogue is running away from something or someone, most likely to be the latter case. It looks like she has been beaten up by captain marvel pretty badly and she is just making the run for it. with the sort of power she possesses, she wont be able to defeat captain marvel in an one on one battle.

Nemesis

Nemesis is written by Mark Millar. The artist is Steve McNiven. The story revolves around a supervillain.

have you ever considered what would happen if a person like Batman turned out to be a villain? well, this short comic series tries to answer that exact question. the main antagonist does not seem to have any type of superpowers, but he does seem to have the resources and gadgets to pull off big tasks by himself.

her is the main antagonist of the series. as opposed to the superhero costume of the dc character batman, who dresses mostly in black or dark clothing, this guy is dressed in completely white clothing. everything all over his body seems to be covered except from his face. his cape is also completely white. and if you ask me, i would say that his cape seems to be a little bigger than what should be considered appropriate.
this is actually the main protagonist of the series. he is just a normal person who happens to be a police officer and the main interest of the antagonist aka the nemesis. although this story is named nemesis, the actual guy that is nemesis is a bad guy and the police man is the good guy. here we can see the guy with a shotgun in his hand.
here we can see that a train is coming out of a tunnel. the tunnel seems to be going inside a large apartment building. this indicates that this world is a construct of the writer himself and not an actual city in the real world itself. this also indicates that something bad is going to happen to that particular train and/or to the passengers of tha train.
this is a particularly menacing scene where we can see that a plane is possibly losing its control and going towards a large building. no further comment on that. actually nothing happens to the plane or the building as it would prove to be too controversial for a slight comic book.
now we can see that the main antagonist, nemesis himself is driving a car very fast. the brand of the car is also visible to the viewers. it is an audi car. whenever we see a brand name shown or flashed in a movie or a tv series or a comic series we cannot help but believe that the producers or the directors or the writers were paid heftily to sponsor that exact particular product. by the way, we can also see in here that the car is also being shot by a helicopter very heavily. it is possible that the helicopter is being flown the the main protagonist or maybe simply by a police officer.

Mark Millar has some weird story choice in this series and the ending might seem to be really confusing to some of the readers.

Return of Bruce Wayne

This is a 6 issue limited series written by Grant Morrison. Each issue has a different artist. This story contains time travel where Bruce Wayne travels through multiple periods of time. this short series is not that particularly popular among comic book readers everywhere.

in this picture, we can see a refreshing new rendition of the batmobile. the batmobile has been drawn and designed by a lots of artists and designers and i would like to say that all of them look pretty cool to me.

a fun fact i would like to share with you guys is about the dark knight trilogy. in the second movie, the dark knight, bruce wayne is seen driving an expensive lamborghini car. normally nobody would think twice about this information as bruce wayne is pretty rich, he is likely to drive an expensive car.

but the model of the car is actually lamborghini murcielago. and the literal translation of the word murcielago in english bat.

So, Bruce Wayne actually drives the batmobile in broad daylight.

here is an artwork of batgirl/batwoman looking badass and walking away from a bike that resembles the batmobile very much. the reason how we can be able to find out that it is an art work inside a comic is because that we can see the layout of a building horizontally laid out behind her.
here we can see three bats flying in moonlight. it is full moon at the time. although the comic story is not particularly very popular among the fan base, we can see that art style is absolutely amazing.
in this scene, we can see bruce wayne gloomily sitting his large mansion. this scene very much resembles the first time when he himself was injured in his mansion, possible in the same exact room in the same exact chair, a bat broke the window and got in. he might be remembering the first night that he actually decided to become batman.
this is the bat cave. here you can see the bat family present. in the background we can see a giant joker card. a tyrannosaurus rex replica. there is also a giant penny that is probably from harvey face also known as two face.

Astonishing X-men

The first 24 issues of Astonishing X-Men written by Joss Whedon is one of the best X-Men story arc of all time. These are some pictures from that.

This one is one of the best x-men series run ever writtne by an incredibly talented Joss Whedon. at least in my opinion, out of all the x-men run I have read, this is the best. on so far. i am not talking abouut any story in particular, i am actually talking baout the entire run by the author. it actually consisted of 3 stories. comebacks from old characters.

here we can see that wolverine is peeking out from the left side of the screen. this particular picture actually has a little comedic tone to it. wolverine seems to be guilty about something and he has one of his claws holding his lower lip. this claw is actually replacing his finger in a recognizable guilty look.
here we can a relatively new x-man showcasing her power. from this picture we can understand that the power of this particular person is manifesting some sort of armor around her entire body. it seems to be an interesting sort of power but i cannot,at this point, confirm the materials that make up the contents of this armor. the character also seems to be really angry at this picture, which means that for some reason she does not like the situation that she has found herself in and she cannot handle the situation rationally.
here in this picture of a sentinel. if you know the history of x-men, then you would know that the sentinels are among the biggest threats for the x-people. in this specific picture, we can see that something is falling in front of this sentinel. something huge that is. it can be a hand torn down from that sentinel or maybe some other part form an entirely different sentinel.
here we can see that wolverine is angrily walking towards something or someone. but, he is not too angry about whatever that is making him angry at the point. if he was too angry, he would have been running instead of walking and he would have brought out his claws.
here we can see kitty pryde walking behind someone. she is probably walking behind frost. they are entering a dark place where nothing is visible,at least in this panel, behind the doors. we can also see that small dragon is flying behind them. in the second panel, kitty looked back at the dragon. she had a look of mistrust and betrayal. we can derive from these panels that this particular dragon was some sort of friend or acquaintance of the woman and for some reason, the small dragon has broken the trust of her.

Sin City

Here are some pics from Sin City. Written and drawn by Frank Miller.

Amazing art style and storytelling. two movies have been made based on the stories portrayed in these comics. the stories are completely different from one another. but, they do occur in the same city and involve the people living in that same exact place. sometimes, characters from a different story can make a slight cameo in another story.

here you can see a man waiting outside of a car, probably belongs to him. the art style is absolutely fascinating. this person standing outside this car is probably waiting for someone or maybe waiting for some sort of signals from someone else. this picture actually belongs to a really short and really disturbing piece of story.

now we can see that the car is waiting outside a big mansion. we can also clearly see that it is snowing outside really heavily. it was also deductible from the previous picture. if you look closely on the last picture, you can see that the dark part that was shaded for the dress and silhouette of the man had a lot of dots. however, it was not obvious from the last picture if it was snowing or not. it could have been the design of the suit of that guy. however, it is pretty obvious in this picture.
now we can see that a guy is walking down some steps of stairs. at first it was not obvious for me from just by looking at the picture if the guy was going up or just going down the stairs. but if you look closely at the shadow play of the stairs, you can find out that he is most likely going down the stairs. he is also trying to light up something that seems like it could be either cigars or cigarettes.

we can also see that the same guy is driving a car with only one hand and smoking with the other hand. it is still not clear from this frame of picture that if it is cigar or cigarette that he is smoking. what we can understand from this picture is that it is definitely night time.

in this picture we can see that a hapless person is getting hit by a car. the car was probably going at really high speed but not too high. that is because we can see that the guy getting hit by the car is up in the air and two of the wheels of the car hitting the guy is also airborne. if the car was getting at more higher speed than it is already going, the person getting hit would easily be crushed at the crushing speed. if it was going at any slower speed, the person or the two wheels of the car would not have been airborne.

Before Watchmen

Watchmen is known as on of the best graphic novel of all time. There was a series called before watchmen that shows what happened before the events of watchmen.
pretty obviously, as the name suggests, before watchmen is about what happened before the events of the actual comic series watchmen took place. the following pictures are from the Rorschach part of the before watchmen mini series.
the character of rorschach is gritty and brutal. this character does not have any super powers nor is he rich so that he can afford any sort of luxuries for fighting crime for the poor. here you can see that he is swinging from a ladder that stopped at the second floor of a building. he is clearly running after someone he is chasing.
here is a scene about the night time and the busy life of a city. someone is inside the taxi that is on the focus of this scene. the taxi driver seems to be talking to the person riding the taxi. it can be the main protagonist or some other character in this story.
here we can see that people are walking along the streets of the busy night.it is raining and most of the people walking along the street, or crossing the street has an umbrella with them. in this particular scene, both the protagonist of the story, Rorschach and the main villain of the story is present. they are among the people who do not have an umbrella with them.
here we can see a citywide blackout. this indicates that there has been some disaster, either natural or man made. this is actually at the end of this short comic. the final showdown is about to happen between the main protagonist and the main villain. the entire city has gone dark and something bad is about to happen. if you have read the original watchmen graphic novel or have any idea about the story, then you already know what happens in the showdown between them.

here you can see a tiger on the loose inside a night club. you can easily deduce that the action has started and the tiger is a big part of it. in the background, there is a guy who sis raising his hand probably to something or someone poiting something lethal at him. there is also a body on the ground that can be seen over there. a guy is also seen to be running away from the tiger.  he has a gun, but he thinks that the gun wont be doing much good for him. we already know that rorschach does not have any special power or backup with him. so, this tiger was actually really helpful for him to get an upper hand on his enemies.

Wanted [comic]

The movie Wanted starring Angelina Jolie is based on this comics written by Mark Millar. The story deviates from the comics in the movie. I can't really tell whether it was good for the movie or bad.

but it does not deviate that much as in the main theme of the story is still the same. the big twist in the latter half of the movie is completely different from the comic story.

here you see the protagonist just killed a guy who resembles red skull a lot. there is a woman standing in the background with her back against this side and a third person can be seen in the background smoking a cigar over there.
here you get an up close shot of the guy smoking the cigar. he is heavily armored as you can see that is is wearing a lot of armor. this person is actually the father of the main protagonist. there is a lot going on in this scene as the identity of the father gets revealed to us, the readers.
here you can see a person running along the side of a high rise building. if you have seen the movie then you would be familiar with the types of unorthodox fighting and action style introduced in the movie. there are a lot of elements like bullet-bending and other things too. so, you can see a glimpse of the action over here.
her is a picture of the main protagonist and the heroine over here. the name of the woman is fox in this series. the character of the woman named fox is played by angelina jolie in the movie. the mask of the main protagonist is also not showcased in the movie properly. as i said before, a lot of things from the comic was no taken to the movie series because of various issues.

the guy we had seen running along the side of a building can also be seen in this picture as he is getting ready to jump off from the side of the building. he can be seen wearing only his nightwear and handling a gun on one hand.
this is actually the opening scene of the comic. this scene is actually copied to the movie almost same. if you have seen the movie then you would know that this guy dies pretty soon after a while.
